Genticorum

With impeccable musicianship and an infectious joie de vivre, Genticorum are amongst the most distinctive voices in traditional Québécois music, seamlessly melding fiddle, flute, accordion, guitar, foot percussion and voices.

Recipients of four Canadian Folk Music Awards, and with Juno and ADISQ nominations, the trio are one of Quebec’s leading traditional groups, having carved a formidable presence amongst the international traditional, folk and Celtic music scenes. In their 20+ years, Genticorum’s six albums and four EPs have received critical acclaim in Canada and abroad, fuelling high demand for their live shows. Known for their energy and stage presence, but also for refined and precisely executed arrangements, they have performed nearly 2,000 concerts in 20 countries.
Pascal Gemme (fiddle) and Yann Falquet (guitar), the two founding members of the trio, are also individually recognised for their contribution to the industry, with some of their compositions becoming beloved standards in Quebec’s dance and session scene. Joined in 2015 by acclaimed multi-instrumentalist and composer, Nicholas Williams (flute, accordion), the pleasure that the three musicians have in playing and making music together is palpable, both on stage and on record.

In high demand across the globe, Genticorum have performed on many renowned stages around the world, and have been programmed in countless prestigious world/folk festivals, including Celtic Connections, Tønder Festival in Denmark, the National Folk Festival in Australia, Estonia’s Vijlandi Folk Festival, the Rainforest World Music Festival in Borneo, Mexico’s International Festival of Chihuahua, and the Independent Music Festival of Alexandria in Egypt.
