The celebrated Martinů Quartet from the Czech Republic offers a dynamic programme reflecting their heritage with a colourful work by Schulhoff and the joyful, optimistic Piano Quintet from Dvořák, for which they are joined by Tom Poster at the piano. The concert opens with an early Beethoven quartet, the second that he composed.
