Freya Waley-Cohen New work for mezzo-soprano and chamber ensemble
A performance featuring music by the award-winning young composer Freya Waley-Cohen, including her arrangement of Mahler’s Rückert Lieder, settings of five of emotive poems by the influential German Romantic author whose poetry was a huge influence on Mahler’s composition. The concert also features a new chamber piece for soprano and chamber ensemble, receiving its world premiere, which she will be discussing in a free post-concert talk at 2.15pm in the auditorium.
