What time does the Corn Exchange open before an event? - What’s the best time to arrive if I don’t want to wait in the queue?
Please arrive as close to the advertised door time as possible. Usually the Corn Exchange opens 45 minutes before show time. Unfortunately, there is no way of avoiding the queues but if you have access needs and need extra time to get to your seat then please do contact us in advance on 01223 357 851. Please note, the Cambridge Live Tickets Box Office is located two doors down from the venue.
Is the building open to the public during the day?
No, the building is only open to the public when the doors open for a show.
How do I find out event times?
Running times will be updated on the show page on our website and on our twitter feed. Where possible we will also try and include support act times but these are subject to change. The exact running times for gigs will be available at the Cambridge Live Tickets Box Office on the night of the event.
What is the seating layout?
Please see our seating plan – We have different blocks of seating for different events and the front row for a seated event will depend on the size of the stage. If you are attending a seated event then there will be seats available on the ground floor, tiered seating and balcony. If you are coming to a standing show, standing tickets will be available on the ground floor of the auditorium and seated tickets will be available in the balcony.
I have mobility issues, where is the best place to sit?
We have accessible seats reserved on both the flat floor and in the boxes. Access to all other seating areas includes:
From ground floor to the tiered seating = 1-10 steps
From ground floor to the Mezzanine = 16 steps
From ground floor to the balcony seats = 31 steps and a further 35 steps depending on the row.
From ground floor to the boxes = 19 (The is also a platform lift to these seats).

What are restricted view and no view tickets?

The Corn Exchange is a Grade II listed building which was not originally designed as a theatre. Consequently, because of the structure of the building, there are some seats which have a restricted view or in some cases, such limited view that we sell them as no view tickets. Please note that visiting tours/shows dictate the price of specific seats on sale. Please speak to our Box Office to ask for more information about the view from specific seats.
Will there be any pyros/lasers/strobes in the show?

Are there any age restrictions for shows at the Corn Exchange?
Some age restrictions are set by the visiting tour/show so please check the event page on our website, however, as a venue we do state that no children under 14 years will be allowed entry unless accompanied by an adult and we advise that no under 14’s should have tickets in the standing/ ground floor area for standing shows.
For children’s shows, we often allow babes in arms (up to 18 months) admittance free of charge, however some shows specifically targeted at younger audiences require a ticket for anyone attending the performance. Please check the relevant event show page for more details.
Can you bring a baby buggy into the theatre?
We advise, where possible, not to bring buggies to children’s shows due to the huge volume we encounter. If you do need to bring your buggy, please be aware that you will not be able to take this into the auditorium due to fire safety regulations and will therefore need to leave it in the foyer. Baby changing facilities can be found in the ground floor disabled toilets.
Can I take my food/drink into the Corn Exchange?
We operate a strict no consumables policy. No food or drink bought off site can be consumed in the venue and if you are found to be doing so you risk being removed and refused re-entry.
Will my guide dog be allowed into the Auditorium?
Yes, and if possible please do inform us in advance of your visit.
What can I buy at the bar and what payment methods do you accept?
We have two large fully stocked bars (Schering Bar) in the main foyer serving a great selection of beers, ciders, wines, spirits and soft drinks, and a large and accommodating bottle and spirit bar (St Johns Bar) on the first floor accessible via the rear staircase to the right of the main hall (and also via the platform lift for customers with access needs).
All three of these bars accept both cash and card payments.
On select events, two convenient bottle bars are available and can be located on the mezzanine. These are cash payment only.
Can I pre order drinks for the interval?
You are able to pre order your drinks and snacks for the interval at any seated show.
What if I am running late for an event?
Most shows will have a latecomers policy set by the visiting tour/show, so stewards will only be able to allow you into the auditorium up until, or after a certain time. Where possible, we will try and seat you as soon as we can but you may have to wait until an interval or pause in the programme, and you may be seated in different seats until an appropriate time where we can move you to your booked seats.
When I enter the venue, why can’t I leave to come back in until a certain time?
Once we have opened the venue for that evening’s event (particularly shows selling standing tickets) and you have shown your ticket, we cannot allow you to then leave until approximately 8:15pm – the exact time will be highlighted for that evening around the venue. This restriction allows us to control the one-way flow of people coming into the venue via the entrance and it ensures tighter security on the front doors. After 8:15pm or during the event you can re-enter as many times as you like, you will just need to get a black re-entry hand stamp from the main doors.
Can I take pictures/videos during the performance?
The official policy of the Corn Exchange and the touring shows, forming part of the conditions of sale when you purchase a ticket, is that the unauthorised use of cameras, video and any other form of recording equipment (including iPad's / tablets) is strictly prohibited due to copyright. However, some of the shows do permit the use of phone cameras and small digital cameras but no flash is to be used at any time due to the disturbance this causes to performers and other audience members.
'Professional' cameras with removable and interchangeable lenses are always prohibited. Unfortunately, the camera policy for a specific show is typically only confirmed on the day of the event. We would advise that if you choose to bring a small digital camera to the venue you must be prepared not to use it if requested not to do so.
Can I leave items to be signed by the artist or meet them after the show?
The venue will not arrange signings or meet and greets unless this has been previously arranged by the show/tour as part of the event.
What should I do if I have a problem on the night?
If you have any kind of a problem on the night, please contact any member of the Front of House team (steward/security) or the Duty Manager directly as soon as possible.
I lost something at an event, how do I find out if you have found it?
If you have lost or misplaced an item whilst at the venue, please either call us on 01223 357 851 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
I am bringing a school party to an event at the Corn Exchange and need to do a risk assessment in advance. Can I visit the venue beforehand?
Unfortunately, we don’t have the capacity to facilitate this but you are welcome to contact the Front of House team with any questions you may have about the venue.
Where is the Box Office?
Our Cambridge Live Tickets Box Office is not in the Corn Exchange but two doors down. The address is 2 Wheeler Street, Cambridge CB2 3QB.
How can I book tickets?

By Phone – The Cambridge Live Tickets Box Office phone line - 01223 357 851 - is open Monday to Saturday 10am – 6pm.
By Counter - The Cambridge Live Tickets Box Office counter is open Monday to Friday 12pm – 6pm and on Saturdays 10am – 6pm. On performance evenings at the Corn Exchange the Cambridge Live Tickets Box Office will stay open until 30 minutes after the start of the performance. If there is a performance at the Corn Exchange on a Sunday, the counter will open 1 hour before the performance and close 30 minutes after the start.
When can I pick up my tickets from the Box Office? And how can I collect my tickets if I am delayed?
Tickets are available to collect from the Cambridge Live Tickets Box Office from 30 minutes after purchase. They can be collected in advance, or on the day of the performance. The Cambridge Live Tickets Box Office will be open until 30 minutes after the advertised show start time. After that tickets will be at the front door of the venue.
Can I cancel my tickets/refund?
Tickets cannot be exchanged or money refunded, except when an event is postponed or cancelled.
I’ve lost my tickets can I still attend?
If you have booked through Cambridge Live Tickets please contact us for more information. If you have booked though an external agent please contact your point of sale.
If the show I want to see is sold out, what can I do? Is there a waiting list for shows?
