World Music Marquee

Local musicans and DJ Gil Karpas will be compering a steller line up of world music musicans in this years marquee. View the line up below:

  • Divino - vibrant flamenco fusion and latin group formed from some of the finest and most experienced performers of the London circuit.
  • The Turbans - international musical collective bringing together exciting traditional near-eastern and eastern-European styles and original compositions, to create a modern and energetic performance with reverence for its ancient roots.
  • Vula Viel - intensely rhythmic music with an engaging mix of African, electronica and minimalist influences. Vula Viel brings the powerful ancient Dagaare music into the 21st century and the resulting music will engage, entrance and excite your soul.
  • Tatcho Drom - Exploring the musical heritage of Eastern Europe and the Balkans, Tatcho Drom create fresh arrangements and innovative compositions which are fused with elements of classical, world and jazz. The outcome is a unique and multi-faceted repertoire for attentive listeners.
  • West African Blues Project - a new collaboration between Senegalese vocalist Modou Touré and Brit blues maestro Ramon Goose that came together relatively effortlessly. Touré’s vocals glide effortlessly over Ramon’s masterfully placed guitar blues riffs.
  • Iroko - a percussion-driven Cambridge-based 9 piece playing sizzling grooves from Haiti, Brazil, West and South Africa and Egypt. You wont be able to keep your feet still!
  • Cambridge Cuban Salsa - Come along and be amazing by the power of Salsa and then get the chance to learn the moves in a special workshop

World Dance Marquee

  • Banast Bast - We perform Middle Eastern style dance but also like to experiment and have fun  by fusing other genres with belly dance.  Most of the Group have been dancing for over 10 years and have had lessons with world famous Egyptian performers.  We have experienced teachers in the group and we choreograph our own dances.
  • Dance Greek - The Cambridge Greek Dance Group “Dance Greek” was formed in 2011 and is a group of dancers of all nationalities and ages who learn and enjoy Greek traditional dances. The aim of the group is to promote Greek tradition and culture through music and dance; the dances are social, inclusive and vary greatly in style between regions.
