The Local Honeys

From the rolling hills of the Bluegrass and the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Kentucky duo The Local Honeys ft Montana Hobbs and Linda Jean Stokley, released their impressive new album The Local Honeys sing The Gospel on the historic Appalachian media institute Appalshop - JuneAppal Records on November 1st, 2019.
 
Having previously toured Europe with Colter Wall, The Local Honeys returned to the UK and Ireland at the start of 2019 for a successful run of shows in small arts spaces and larger folk clubs including opening the show for Karine Polwart, Kris Drever & the Scottish Chamber Orchestra at the Kings Theatre during Celtic Connections.
 
Summer 2019 saw the Honeys back in Europe to perform at a string of cool and boutique festivals including Latitude, SummerTyne, Westport Folk & Bluegrass, Fire in the Mountain, Belladrum
and Kate Rusby’s Underneath The Stars.
 
To follow a successful summer festival season The Local Honeys came back to England in November for 11 shows to promote their new record The Gospel. A lot of busy gigs were complemented by interviews and sessions on BBC Radio Merseyside and BBC Radio Cambridgeshire as the tour brought the beauty and charm of Kentucky folk music to university unions, historical towers, old religious rooms and Cecil Sharp House.
