As we re-open, some events may still be cancelled. If you hold tickets to a cancelled event, rest assured your tickets are protected and we will contact you in due course about your options for a refund or, where available, re-booking to another date.

Please be patient and wait to be contacted. The phone lines remain closed and the Wheeler Street box office is open from 6 pm on performance days for ticket collections only.

THE BIG WEEKEND (1 – 3 July 2022)

Traditionally, the Big Weekend takes place every summer on Parker’s Piece and includes big-name performers plus local musicians, a French market, games, educational activities, fireworks, and lots of family-friendly entertainment. 

The Main Stage bursts in to life on Friday night with some of the UK's best loved and well known acts, previous Big Weekend headliners have included DJ sets from Craig Charles and live performances from bands such as Right Said Fred, Dr and the Medics and Legend, many fabulous and famous names have graced the Big Weekend stage over the years. Friday ends with a stunning fireworks display on Parker's Piece for everyone to enjoy and this explosive finale is always a stand out moment during a weekend filled with fabulous music, delicious food and plenty of free entertainment.

Saturday is a great day for families and sees all of the tents dotted around Parker's Piece filled with people having fun. There's an art tent, local bands stage, sports zone, Alliance Francaise present a programme music and dance in their tent plus there's a french market selling amazing food and plenty more to enjoy throughout Parker's Piece. The Main Stage is again filled with some fantastic local acts and as the day turns into evening more famous faces take to the stage, Saturday night at Big Weekend has seen acts such as T-Rex, Big 10 and Aswad entertain the crowd.

Sunday sees the Cambridge Mela take place, it's a celebration of Asian culture and the stages and the tents of the Big Weekend are filled with superb entertainment. Previous years have seen dance performances from Sanskruti School of Dance and Natyanjali Dance School and music from the likes of Karmic Version and Panajbi MC. The Main Stage has also hosted performances by Apache Indian, SonnyJi Sounds and Imran Khan. The Mela is a wonderful way to end three days of excellent entertainment.
