Growing up in a musical family Sean was quickly drawn to the piano and started lessons at an early age, honing his craft on the Cambridge live gig circuit, accompanying other musicians and lending his distinctive piano magic to artists such as EZIO and Max Bianco.
Alongside his nuanced accompaniment to songs, he continued to develop his improvisation and lead playing with jazz/ funk bands 'Funk Outreach Project', 'Shake Your Tail Feather' and his own project 'The Flying Hammond Trio' - firmly establishing himself as one of the best keys players on the scene. Having been an experienced sideman in a host of Cambridge bands he is now beginning to share his own music with the world.
Sean’s diary entry style songs explore grief and heartache, regularly stunning audiences to silence with his intricate piano motifs and cinematic arrangements.
He plays Cambridge Folk Festival with his band – Fabian Bonner (Bass), Mal Hyde-Smith (drums/ percussion), Ben Smith (pedal steel/ guitars), Emily Fraser (vocals), Clare Hayes (vocals).
