Kitewing

Soaring harmonies and roaring fiddles combine with guitar, mandolin and banjo to play songs of the sea, migration and environmental struggle. The pulse of the natural world is the core of this band. Driving tune sets and compelling instrumentals weave throughout the ‘Kitewing’
set, a band that unites two critically acclaimed UK groups ‘The Shackleton Trio’ and ‘Christina Alden & Alex Patterson’.

This ensemble of award-winning musicians has extensively toured the UK, Europe, and Scandinavia, and collectively have achieved national airplay on BBC Radio 2, BBC 3 live sessions, BBC Radio 4, BBC 6 Music and RTÉ Radio 1. February 2024 marked the release of their debut album ‘Kitewing’ to critical acclaim with accompanying UK tour and a string of summer festival dates.
