In 1947, Victoria’s ‘Jewel in the Crown’ divided through the violence of Partition, with millions finding themselves suddenly on the wrong side, a trauma still affecting many British South Asians today. Authors and journalists Shrabani Basu and Kavita Puri discuss the repercussions of these decisive moments in India’s history.
