Heffers and the Institute of Continuing Education at Madingley Hall are delighted to present an evening with bestselling author Victoria Hislop, who will be discussing Those Who Are Loved, her latest, gripping novel set in wartime Greece.

Athens, 1941. Nazi forces occupy Greece ... and a nation falls apart. Victoria Hislop’s latest Sunday Times Number One bestseller takes you into the darker days of Greek history and, through the eyes of its extraordinary heroine, illuminates the courage it takes to live in peace. It’s both a beautifully woven love story and a spellbinding, heart-breaking depiction of a country torn apart by hatred.

Victoria Hislop read English at Oxford, and worked in publishing, PR and as a journalist before becoming a novelist. Her previous books include The Island, which held the number one slot in the Sunday Times paperback charts for eight consecutive weeks, The Return, which was set against the tempestuous backdrop of the Spanish Civil war, and The Sunrise, a turbulent family saga set in Cyprus after the Turkish invasion of 1974.

Tickets for the event are priced at £7 in advance.
