‘Purba Dhara’ (An eastern stream)

The programme is elegantly blended with dance, music and Rhythm of Odisha- the eastern state of Indian also known as soul of Incredible India, showcasing its enchanting music and dance tradition presented by eminent artists. The show will host for the first time in UK the folk/tribal dances from the western Odisha. The Odissi classical dance form is more than 2000 years &  is the oldest surviving dance form of India on the basis of archaeological evidences. 

Eminent artists and music maestros like Guru Ramhari Das, who has been awarded the Central Sangeet Natak Academi  award by the President of India, Guru Dhaneswar  Swain, the Sangeet Natak Academy Award for Odissi  Mardal and Guru Niranjan Rout, who has been training dancers for three decades along with Mrs Sangitanjali Nanda rated as an A grade vocalist by All India Radio are part of the group.

The event will also bring you local Talents from Cambridge performing Carnatic music by Ranjan Vasudevan - Carnatic Guitar & Vishwanath Sankaran - Chitravina
