Ragini Madan has trained in ‘Kathak’ under Padmashri Shovana Narayan for over 12 years. Her style of presentation consists of a harmonious blend of Lucknow and Jaipur gharanas. In London, she has also learnt intricate Kathak techniques from Mukti Shri. Kathak, deriving its name from the Sanskrit words ‘katha’ (story) and ‘kathakar’ (storyteller). Natural movements, vitality, complicated footwork, breathtaking pirouettes, abhinaya and heartrending mime are the hallmarks of Kathak.
