As the Founder’s Galleries are closed for crucial renovations this year, we are delighted that the Museum of Zoology have very kindly agreed to host our Friends Christmas Party in their impressive Whale Hall where Friends will enjoy festive refreshments and meet Cambridge’s largest resident – a 21 metre fin whale.

The University Museum of Zoology, Cambridge is one of the largest and most important natural history collections in the UK, with an extraordinarily rich history dating back to 1814. The Museum reopened this summer after a five-year, multi-million pound redevelopment project during which it received a complete renovation, including the construction of new stores to preserve its outstanding collections, a dramatic new glass entrance hall where the fin whale skeleton resides and the creation of the Whale Café, shop and Learning Lab.

Please bring along your family and friends to enjoy a drink and celebrate the festive season in this spectacular venue. The Shop will be open and Friends will receive a 10% discount on their purchases. A selection of Fitzwilliam Museum Christmas cards will also be available.
