Musica Vera brings together Mark Bailey and Kevin Sherwin of the American Baroque Orchestra, their distinctive pairing of viola and guitar creating a unique musical colour scheme. This concert features transcriptions of works by JS Bach, along with his relatives and musical mentors of the German Baroque – including Pachelbel, Buxtehude and JC Bach. The programme also includes some of their own compositions, early American music of the 17th and 18th centuries and works by American women composers.
 
A free post-concert talk, Recorded Illuminations of the British Empire: Music, Theatre, and Politics, will follow at 14:30 in the Thomas Grey Room, Pembroke College
