In his blueprint for rescuing the British countryside, environmental specialist and professor of economics Dieter Helm sets out a manifesto that is both radical and realistic. Assessing our “green assets”, exploring the challenges of sustainability and eschewing the sterile opposition of economics and ecology, he proposes a bold and practical 25-year plan that puts the preservation and enhancement of our precious green spaces at its forefront. There is hope and there is time, but we must act now.
