Her new book brings her beady eye to bear on a clutch of “bloody brilliant women”, some virtually unknown to history, like chain-smoking motorbike racer and engineer Beatrice Shilling, as well as some widely-known household names. She’ll re-tell the tale of twentieth and twenty-first-century Britain through the lives of these pioneering women, who dismantled the entrenched views of their place in society and altered the course of history.

In conversation with Alice Wroe, founder of Herstory.
