Tapestri

Thursday Club Tent, 19:50-20:40

Friday Stage 1, 14:30-15:15

Tapestri is a band sparked by a chance meeting between Welsh singer-songwriters Lowri Evans and Sera Zyborska at Festival Interceltique de Lorient in the summer of 2019. Fuelled by their passion for Roots and Americana music and the desire to form a bilingual female-fronted band, they have carved out songs that take their musical colours from a broad palette that includes Americana, Roots, Folk and Country and sing in harmony from the heart.

Sera and Lowri have been performing as solo artists for a number of years, performing across Wales, the UK and internationally and played on national and international radio. But this collaboration presents a united front and takes their creativity to another level.

Between them they have been championed on BBC 6 Music, Radio 2, performed everywhere from Greenman, Underneath the Stars and Festival Number 6 and from Wales to Europe to America

As a newly formed band and based at opposite ends of Wales, (Sera on Anglesey and Lowri in Pembrokeshire) the pair continued to develop their vision for Tapestri throughout the pandemic.

As multi-instrumentalists, Lowri and Sera have a special connection that has grown through the songs they have written and the vision they have for Tapestri and women in music. They were inspired by The Highwomen, the US ‘supergroup’ featuring Brandi Carlile and Amanda Shires, who formed as a response to the lack of representation of women artists on country music radio and festivals.

They have since released 2 singles which have been playlisted on BBC Radio Wales, performed at Focus Wales and Between the Trees in 2021 and were selected to represent Wales in the first ever Global Music Match.
