As we re-open, some events may still be cancelled. If you hold tickets to a cancelled event, rest assured your tickets are protected and we will contact you in due course about your options for a refund or, where available, re-booking to another date.

Please be patient and wait to be contacted. The phone lines remain closed and the Wheeler Street box office is open from 6 pm on performance days for ticket collections only.

MARKETING ASSISTANT

Working as part of the Council’s arts and culture department, this post will support marketing and promotional activities across a range of venues and events, including the Cambridge Corn Exchange programme, the Cambridge Folk Festival, and the City Events programme (including The Big Weekend, Fireworks & Bonfire Night, and more).

Whether you are writing and creating content for our social media channels, attending events in-person to take photos and video, liaising with promoters to support shows in the Corn Exchange, or proofing programmes and other hard-copy material before it goes to print, you will play an essential part in ensuring these events are successful and that customers enjoy themselves and take away a positive impression.

The successful applicant will have an understanding of best practices for social media and digital marketing, strong proof-reading skills including correct punctuation and spelling, and familiarity with content management systems for website and email content.

This post forms part of the Marketing and Sponsorship team, and works closely with teams from the Corn Exchange, Folk Festival and City Events, as well as external partners.

SENIOR VENUE ASSISTANT (BOX OFFICE)

Hours:                                        37 hours per week

Working Pattern:                         Working on a rota basis including evenings and weekends

Salary:                                        £20,493 - £22,627 per annum (City Pay Band 2 plus enhancements for weekends and Bank Holidays)

The Corn Exchange is not just the biggest venue in the area it is also the busiest. We put on a whole range of events from the latest bands to children’s theatre, from huge corporate events to graduation ceremonies, from classical concerts to raves, weddings, parties and conferences.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the team as a Senior Venue Assistant and demonstrate your previous experience of working with the public. You’ll be playing a key part in the event delivery team, assisting the Box Office Manager and Venue Officers with the delivery of customer focussed services at the Corn Exchange and Guildhalls. Working as part of the Venues Team you will mainly be involved in supporting at the Box Office, but this varied role will also see you event stewarding, serving on the bar as well as post show clearing and re-setting.

You will be an experienced event worker and as part of the Venue Team you will be key to the customer experience and ensure that all our events are delivered to the highest standards, creating lasting memories of great nights out for all our customers.
